I normally take is a size 39 in sandals and shoes. However they recommend taking a size smaller in Birkenstock and the size 38 are a perfect fit.

These are so wide! Really unsuitable for normal width feet! Luckily I know someone with a medical condition that can make use of them! These are so much wider than any Birkenstocks I have had in the past!

Nothing wrong with the quality of the shoe or Brantano service but unfortunately I've had to return these as they are too wide. I normally wear this size (5.5) in Birkenstocks and women's are usually 245 wide, these appear to be men's sizes as they are 250 wide and are much bigger. Shame as they were a great price and I love this style.
