Brantano now thrives exclusively online offering a wide range of famous brands, being the first choice for shoes for all the family at great prices!

Brantano stores in the UK closed in March 2017.

In September 2017 Brantano (UK & Ireland) and its associated brand names were acquired by Lyndonford Ltd.

In 2007, Dutch holding company Macintosh Retail Group took over ownership of Brantano. In 2015, Macintosh sold the Brantano UK subsidiary to Alteri Investors.

Brantano took over the UK based chain "Shoe City" after the collapse of British Shoe Corporation in the mid 1990's and by the end of the decade all stores were converted to carry the Brantano fascia. Establishing itself as a family store throughout the UK, mainly large units in out of town retail sites and concessions throughout department stores and Garden Centre's.

Its USP was children's school shoes, a wide product range to attract families, partnering with famous brands such as Clarks, Hush Puppies, Nike and Skechers to name a few.
